Many people are fond of keeping pets at some and some of them keep cats as pets. For the cats there is an entertainment tool and that is the catnip mice. This is a toy in the shape of a mice and the cat find it very interesting to play with the stuffed mice. One can create their own catnip mice by following some simple things and they need to follow some steps as well. For making their mice one need certain things like one fourth cup of dry catnip, 4*4 inch square of felt and it can be nay color, chalk, sewing thread, blanket needle, fabric paint.

After arranging for the above things one has to take the felt and have to fold the felt in to half. After this they have to use chalk and draw half a heart on the felt. The heart should be drawn in such a manner that the broad part is on the top and the narrow part touches the bottom of the felt. Now one has to take good pair of scissors and have to cut along the heart shape. Then unfold the felt and one gets the heart shape felt. One has to again fold the felt and have to sew it by using a strong thread.

For making of the catnip mice one needs to use a good quality thread so that it does harm the cat in case they eat it. One can use a blanket stitch in order to sew the mice. When they are two third done then fill the mice with the dry catnip. Stuff as much as one can and give it a shape of a mouse. Then sew the rest of the mouse. Then with the help of the fabric paint one can lake the eyes and whiskers of the mouse. A tail has also to be created in order to give a real look to the mice. In this way the toy for the cats is ready to use.

The cats are very fond of the catnip mouse and they keep playing with them the whole daylong. One can also make a catnip mouse by using one pair of sock. It can be of any color and it can be stuffed in a similar manner to create a catnip mouse. One can also use buttons instead of paint in order to make eyes of the mouse. Socks can be attractive colors to give it a cool look.
